HISTORY
IJCP Group of Publications
was founded in the year 1990 as a brainchild of Dr
K K Aggarwal with the basic objective of updating the knowledge of the medical
professionals. It was the need of the day at that time and even now.
At that time only association journals and an Indian edition of an International
journal existed which lacked International printing quality. IJCP was born
as a journal cum magazine with total Indian contents with additional sections
like Medi law, Medi finance, quiz, jokes etc. The contents of IJCP were highly
relevant to the Indian medical scene. Dr S D Sharma, former Vice President
of India launched the journal.
To fill the gap, another first from IJCP group, Medinews - India's first
comprehensive medical newspaper was launched by the then I and B Minister
Dr. Girija Vyas. The tabloid format combined with wide coverage of current
happenings in the medical world, crisp & racy reporting with attractive lay outing & designing.
With the continuous pressure from the readers the frequency of the newspaper
was made fortnightly from monthly.
As expected, the demand came for specialty periodicals. In rapid succession
were born the specialty journals of the Group, catering to varied specialties,
from gastroenterology to psychiatry and from gynecology to nephrology. Apart
from that the company ventured into CME programmes (an academy was born) and
health information products. Today the company publishes, on an average one
product daily.
To enter into the International market, the publication house launched the
Sri Lankan and West African issues of IJCP. Also to have a presence in the
Asian scenario the publication house launched a series of Asian Journals (the
examples being AJPP, AJCC, AJOG etc.)
To provide Indian Editions of many International publications, the publication
house, from time to time has been tying up with many International publishers.
Currently we are publishing the Indian edition of Postgraduate Medicine and
the Indian Edition of McMahon Publications. |
