IJCP'S MEDINEWS

Journal of Medinews India has seen a rise in Medico legal issues in last 5 years. This increase in medical law litigations is due to Consumer Protection Act (CPA) & awareness about protection of patients' rights and consistent public claims for professional accountability. It is also a fact that, there are no apparent and explicit guidelines in this regard. This journal is being launched with an objective to keep the Indian Doctor updated about the current Laws & its implications on their practice

(AJOG) Asian Journal of Obs & Gynae Practice was launched in December 1996. AJOG is the first of the series of specialized journals under the "Asian Series launched by IJCP Group by of Publications. It has been launched with a view to provide information to doctors on diseases prevalent specifically in Asia and their treatment. The subject coverage is wide ranging from antenatal care to operative obstetrics, to general gynecology and its subspecialties of urology, oncology and reproductive endocrinology. AJOG is edited by Dr. Alka Kriplani.

  • Conservative Management of Ultrasound Diagnosed Fetal Anomalies Conservative or expectant management is a better option for non-lethal anomaly. Whenever there is uncertainity in outcome benefit of doubt is given in favour of fetal survival.

  • Magnitude of HIV Infection in High Risk Antenatal Women - An Intensive Study HIV screening of antenatal women is mandatory for successfull intervention and management of AIDS. Treatment of various opportunistic infections, effective control of STDs, safe sexual practices, proper screening of blood and blood products and zidovudine prophylaxis HIV positive mothers are the mainstay in the management of AIDs.

  • Orbital cellulites is potentially a dreaded complication of sinusitis.
  • In preantibiotic era 20% of patients with orbital cellulitis died of meningitis or had permanent visual loss.
  • Larger tympanic perforations result in larger hearing loss.
  • Perforations of all sizes and locations produce greater hearing loss at lower frequencies.
